Yes. TalentRiser is positioned as an open-source portfolio MVP. The goal is to show a real engineering project with authentication, resume intelligence, job matching, application tracking, and extension-assisted workflows that collaborators can inspect and improve.
How does TalentRiser help with job applications?
TalentRiser analyzes a user's resume/profile against job descriptions, highlights matching and missing skills, drafts truthful resume improvements, prepares cover letters and recruiter messages, captures jobs through the browser extension, and helps track application status. Sensitive actions stay user-approved.
Is my data secure with TalentRiser?
The MVP is designed with a privacy-first posture: local environment files stay uncommitted, protected routes require authentication, backend records are owner-scoped, and generated resume changes require review. For production use, the remaining hardening steps are tracked in the security documentation.
Can I customize the automated messages sent to recruiters?
Yes. TalentRiser generates recruiter outreach drafts, but the user should review, edit, and approve every message before it is sent. The MVP should not silently message recruiters or run mass outreach.
How accurate is the resume optimization feature?
The resume tailoring flow is designed to be explainable and truthful. It should surface match scores, matching skills, missing skills, and proposed diffs, but it must not invent experience, skills, degrees, employers, or certifications.

Does TalentRiser submit applications automatically?
No silent submissions are part of the MVP. The extension captures jobs for review, and users must approve sensitive actions. TalentRiser should not bypass CAPTCHA, abuse job platforms, or send spam.
